Summary of Request

Pursuant to Mendocino County Code 6.16 approve the application for the first annual Cannabis Country Fair to be held July 8 - 9, 2016 and authorize the Tax Collector to issue an Outdoor Festival license.   The Cannabis Country Fair is an alcohol free, 21-and-over event that will include cannabis sustainability, safety, community, culture and education.  There will also be shopping, camping, films, food provisions and live music.  The event will be held at the Black Oak Ranch located at 50350 Highway 101, Laytonville CA.  The event may draw up to 3000 attendees including staff and performers.

 

The Tax Collector has compiled the information required to be submitted with the application, attached to the agenda for reference, and after finding it to be complete, submits the application to the Board for approval pursuant to section 6.16.040 of the Mendocino County code.  The attached documentation contains: consent from property owners for the proposed use; a statement from the Sheriff attesting to the adequacy of proposed security; a statement from the County Health Officer attesting to the adequacy of proposed security; a statement from the County Health Officer attesting to the adequacy of proposed sanitation, food preparation and handling, and waste disposal; and, further documentation required with the application.
