Summary of Request

For the past several years, the Sheriff has applied for and received annual Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) from the U.S. Department of Justice.  The current allocation is $20,222. The grant funds will be used to replace aged computer and communications equipment that is essential to front line law enforcement and support staff and will allow the Sheriff to avoid degradation of public safety due to inadequate equipment.  Approval of this item will commence the 30-day period during which citizens and neighborhood or community organizations will have the opportunity to comment on this award application.
