Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
By Resolution No. 12-016 (January 24, 2012), The Board of Supervisors (Board) approved BOS Agreement No. 12-011/DOT Agreement No. 110101 with MGE Engineering, Inc., for plans, specifications, and estimate bid package for replacement of the bridge and approaches on Muir Mill Road, CR 301C, over Baechtel Creek. By Resolution No. 13-087 (August 27, 2013), the Board adopted a mitigated negative declaration, in compliance with California Environmental Quality Act requirements, for the replacement of the Baechtel Creek Bridge. By Resolution No. 16-043 (April 5, 2016), the Board authorized DOT to advertise for bids and award DOT Contract No. 160011 for construction of the Baechtel Creek Bridge Replacement over Baechtel Creek at Muir Mill Road.
Summary of Request:
There is a need for construction management services for the construction phase of the project. DOT has insufficient engineering staff to perform the work in a timely manner and therefore requires professional, expert, and technical services of a temporary nature. DOT advertised for these services and selected Quincy based on their qualifications. DOT Agreement No. 160058 provides for specialized consultant services with Quincy for construction management of the Baechtel Creek Bridge Replacement Project in the amount of $55,000. DOT also believes it is prudent to request a contingency in the amount of $5,500 in order to facilitate timely completion of the work.
