Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
Adoption of Mendocino County Code Chapter 20 “Zoning”, Divisions II (Coastal) and III (Mendocino Town). This code authorizes staff to administratively approve certain projects without a public hearing, provided that the approval is reported to the Board of Supervisors prior to the permit becoming effective.
Summary of Request:
Administrative Coastal Development Permit to partition the interior of an existing detached 598 square foot structure into an 85 square foot utility room, 208 square foot a single car garage, and 305 square foot Accessory Living Unit. The existing footprint will remain 598 square feet. The site is located on the north side of Comptche-Ukiah Road approximately 3 miles east of its intersection with Highway 1, 41600 Comptche-Ukiah Road, APN 121-180-03. The CDP was administratively approved by the Coastal Permit Administrator (CPA) on June 21, 2016. Supporting information can be found within the attached report. For this permit to become effective, Board action is needed to authorize the issuance.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Any one member of the Board may direct that the Coastal Development Permit CDP_2015-0020 (SEARS) be scheduled for a public hearing and processed pursuant to Mendocino County Code Chapters 20.536 (coastal zone) or 20.7200 (coastal zone within the Town of Mendocino).
