The petition titled "An Initiative to Add a Temporary Half-Cent Sales Tax to Fund Facilities in Mendocino County to Assist in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental Health and Drug Dependency" was filed with the Mendocino County Clerk's Office on June 24, 2016.

On July 12, 2016 the Registrar of Voters certified that the petition had sufficient verified signatures under Elections Code ?9114 and is presenting her certification to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
