Summary of Request:
HHSA, PAPU is requesting approval to accept a second five-year DFC grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA). This grant will provide $125,000, per year for Federal FY 2016-17 through 2020-21, to continue alcohol and substance abuse prevention activities in the Fort Bragg community. The initial five-year grant was awarded in 2011.
The DFC grant provides funding for alcohol and substance abuse prevention and community engagement in environmental social change advocacy through the Coalition for Gang Awareness and Prevention (CGAP) in the Fort Bragg community. CGAP is a partnership involving HHSA, PAPU and community groups, including law enforcement, schools, and civic groups that provide community education and advocate for change in perceptions within the community.
