Summary of Request:
HHSA PAPU is requesting approval to accept a second, four-year STOP Act grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA). This grant will provide $50,000 per year, for Federal FY 2016-17 through 2019-20, to continue alcohol abuse prevention activities in the Fort Bragg community. The initial four-year grant was awarded in 2012.
The STOP Act grant provides funding for alcohol abuse prevention and community engagement in environmental social change advocacy through the Coalition for Gang Awareness and Prevention (CGAP) in the Fort Bragg community. CGAP is a partnership involving HHSA PAPU and community groups, including law enforcement, schools, and civic groups that provide community education and advocate for change in perceptions within the community.
