Summary of Request:
The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program provides nutrition education and vouchers for nutritious foods to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children who qualify for WIC services. Services that are provided include, but may not be limited to: designate supplemental foods for eligible participants; provide nutrition education to all adult participants and to parents or caretakers of infant and child participants; provide breastfeeding promotion-related activities to appropriate WIC participants; develop annually a nutrition service plan; inform the public of availability of all services provided by WIC; provide health referral services where applicable; verify participant eligibility. Contract term is October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2019 for an amended total of $3,863,638.
