RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution authorizing the Mendocino County Sheriff-Coroner Office, Office of Emergency Services to submit an application for the 2016 Homeland Security Grant Program with the California Office of Emergency Services naming the Emergency Services Director, Assistant Emergency Services Director and Public Health Director or designee as authorized agents and return two signed and certified originals of the Resolution for submittal to the State of California.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
For more than 10 years, the Board of Supervisors has approved annually the Homeland Security Grant from the State and Federal Government for Mendocino County Office of Emergency Services (OES)

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed $165,649 grant submittal will enhance the County's ability to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters by providing the necessary equipment and training to first responders and our community partners. The grant requires that the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors appoint authorized agents to execute on behalf of the County by Resolution and submit a signed and certified copy of the Resolution with the grant application.
