Receive presentation and provide direction regarding support for 2016-2017 Emergency Winter Shelters throughout Mendocino County, which may include funding allocations.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
In FY 2015-16 the County provided $30,000 of Agency funds to support the Coast Shelter, and $60,000 of General Fund dollars to support the Inland Shelter. In the FY 2016-17 Adopted Budget, the Board of Supervisors included $100,000 to address chronic homelessness in the community. On May 17, 2016, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors discussed the proposed Tiny House project in comparison to the Emergency Winter Shelter and evaluating options for long term sustainability of shelters.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Health & Human Services Agency, Adult and Aging Services staff is presenting the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors an update, and request for funding, regarding the 2016-2017 Emergency Winter Shelters. The information presented and requested supports are on behalf of the Homeless Services Action Group (HSAG). HSAG is comprised of individuals and agency representatives collaborating to provide emergency winter shelter to homeless families and individuals throughout Mendocino County, during the most critical months to support the health and wellbeing of this vulnerable population
