Summary of Request

The US DOJ DEA DCESP 2017 Application was due to be submitted by mid-August of this year.  This branch of the Federal Government changed their Fiscal Year to a Federal Fiscal year schedule this year.  This caused a short turn-around time for applications.  According to Mendocino County Policy #25, Section One, Number 4, if there is a time restriction that limits the department from going to the Board, the CEO may approve signing as long as the department takes the item to the Board of Supervisors at their next available meeting.  The Sheriff’s Office requested approval to submit the application from the CEO in August and approval was given.  The application was submitted, accepted, and we are now requesting ratification for the August action.  Funding has not yet been determined by the US DOJ DEA DCESP office.  Once they announce Mendocino County’s award, a request for approval to accept the funding will be brought to the Board of Supervisors per County Policy No. 25.
