Adopt Resolution approving Agricultural Preserve A_2016-0002 (Peña) and approval of a Williamson Act contract for 200± Acres, located west of Willits; APN 038-110-73 as recommended by the Planning Commission, finding the request to be consistent with the General Plan and Mendocino County Code Section 22.08.010 and the policies and procedures for Agricultural Preserves and Williamson Act contracts; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
The applicant proposes to place a total of 200± Acres into a new Agricultural Preserve and Williamson Act Contract. The property is located West of Willits, approximately 5.5 miles on Highway 20, and 0.5 miles north. Located at 4400 W HWY 20, Willits, and consists of Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 038-110-73. On November 3, 2016, the Planning Commission recommended approval of this Preserve to the Board of Supervisors. For additional information, see attached Resolution, and Planning Commission report.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Deny the Agricultural Preserve, finding the project to be inconsistent with the goals and policies of the General Plan and/or the applicable sections of the Mendocino County Code, with respect to criteria necessary for inclusion into an Agricultural Preserve as found in Mendocino County’s Policies and Procedures for Agricultural Preserves and Williamson Act Contracts.
