RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution introducing, reading the title, and waiving further reading of an Ordinance adopting the 2016 California Building Standards Codes with proposed local amendments to Title 18 of the Mendocino County Code, adopting local findings, and making other technical and administrative revisions to Title 18, and authorize Chair to sign same; and setting March 7, 2017, as the date for a noticed public hearing to consider the proposed ordinance.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On February 17, 2015, the Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance No. 4333, which included the 2013 California Building Code with local amendments and findings of support.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The State of California adopts new building construction codes every three years, referred to as the California Building Standards Code. The new 2016 California Building Standards Code will become effective January 1, 2017, and are enforced locally as mandated by the State. Staff has prepared a proposed ordinance to adopt the 2016 code into Chapter 18.04 of the Mendocino County Code, to amend State Codes based on local Mendocino County conditions, and to amend sections of Chapter 18.04 and 18.08, with the goal of making these existing r...
