Approve nomination of Humboldt County Supervisor Ryan Sundberg to the California Coastal Commission's North Coast Region Vacancy from the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino to be considered for appointment to the California Coastal Commission for the seat requiring a representative from the North Coast Region.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
March 22, 2011: the Board of Supervisors nominated Mendocino County Supervisor Kendall Smith and Humboldt County Supervisor Mark Lovelace as North Coast Region representatives to the California Coastal Commission.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On January 3, 2017, a letter from the office of Governor Brown was received requesting nominations to fill a vacancy on the California Coastal Commission in the representational category of North Coast Region of California. Nominations are being sought by city selection committees, as well as Boards of Supervisors in the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino. The City Selection Committee is scheduled to meet the last week of January to consider the nomination as well. Humboldt County Supervisor Ryan Sundberg has notified Supervisor Brown of his interest in the appointment and therefore, is being recommended for Board consideration.
