SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On December 13, 2016, the Governing Board of the Potter Valley Community Unified School District ("District") adopted a resolution requesting the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors ("Board") to approve consolidation of the District's election of their governing board with the statewide General Election in November of each even-numbered year. The Board received notice of this resolution on December 16, 2016 through the County Executive Office. The Mendocino County school districts and the County Office of Education were sent notices in accordance with Election Code section 10404.5(c), and public notices were posted in accordance with Government Code section 25151. In accord with Elections Code section 10404.5(d)(1), the Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters provided an impact analysis. Section 10404.5(d)(1) requires the Board to approve the District's resolution unless it finds that the ballot style, voting equipment or computer capacity is such that additional elections or materials cannot be handled. As reflected in the impact analysis, no evidence exists to support such a finding at this time.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Decline to adopt resolution...
