SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to Government Code ?31520.1, the Board of Supervisors shall appoint the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th members to the Board of Retirement. Currently, the 5th, 6th member positions on the Retirement Board are noticed as vacant. Applicants must be qualified electors of the County who are not connected with the County government in any capacity (except one may be a Supervisor). Pursuant to the Uniform Trustee Appointment Guidelines adopted by the Board of Supervisors on May 15, 2007, applicants are also requested to complete a supplemental questionnaire in addition to their application of interest.

To date, four applications have been received for the two vacant seats. The applicants are Mr. Stanley Anderson, Mr. John Sakowicz, Mr. Ted Stephens, Mr. Richard Weinkle; and Mr. Leland Parker. The applicants have been invited to an interview with the Board to briefly describe their qualifications and interest in serving on the Retirement Board. Following the applicant interviews, staff recommends that the Board consider making appointments to fill the vacant positions.
