PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On January 24, 2017 the Board of Supervisors nominated Humboldt County Supervisor Ryan Sundberg to a North Coast Representative seat on the California Coastal Commission. During discussion of that item the Board of Supervisors expressed interest in supporting the City Selection Committee nomination.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On January 3, 2017, a letter from the office of Governor Brown was received requesting nominations to fill a vacancy on the California Coastal Commission in the representational category of North Coast Region of California. Nominations are being sought by city selection committees, as well as Boards of Supervisors in the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino.
On January 25, 2017, the Mendocino County City Selection Committee voted unanimously in support of City of Fort Bragg Mayor Lindy Peters' nomination for appointment to fill the North Coast Representative vacancy on the California Coastal Commission. Additionally, by general consensus of the committee, the City Selection Committee supported the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors nomination of Ryan Sundberg.
