Authorize the Air Quality Management District to participate in the state Carl Moyer Program and accept state program funds in the amount of $245,569; authorize the District to follow the requirements of the state program for fiscal year 2016-17 (funding year 19); and authorize the Air Pollution Control Officer to sign and submit the application to the California Air Resources Board.

June 21, 2016 - Approval of the District's Carl Moyer Program Application for Funding Year 18.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Carl Moyer Program is administered by the California Air Resources Board. The program creates incentives in the form of grants for public agencies and private companies that operate heavy-duty diesel engines in California. The District is requesting the total allocation of $245,569 from ARB for fiscal year 2016/2017. The required matching funds were approved by the Board on December 11, 2012. State Carl Moyer Program funds along with the District's matching funds ($36,835) will be used to cover an incremental portion of the cost of purchasing new, replacing existing, or retrofitting existing diesel engines with cleaner on-road and off-road engines.
