Summary of Request

Mendocino County Homeless Services Continuum of Care programs received 2.1 million dollars in combined Continuum Care (CoC) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding for homeless services in FY 2016-17. All CoC and ESG grant recipients are required to develop and utilize a Coordinated Entry Process, as defined by United State Department of Housing and Urban Development as a condition of funding. The Coordinated Entry Process creates a CoC wide prioritization of service delivery based on an individual’s vulnerability index and the severity of their need. Coordinated Entry services include assessment, housing navigation, and diversion when possible.

Community Development Commission of Mendocino County (CDC) is acting as the fiduciary agent and in coordination with partner agencies will provide oversight for the Coordinated Entry services. Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is a recipient of CoC funding and an active participant in the collaboration of the Coordinated Entry process for Mendocino County. HHSA will provide $48,000 of General Fund monies for the Coordinated Entry Services contract with CDC. The General Fund amount will be depleted within the 2016-17 Fiscal Year with the remaining contract amount of $38,000 being funded by grant HUD CA1400L9T091500 until completion in August 2017.
