RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution authorizing annual application from Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency, Environmental Health (Local Enforcement Agency) for enforcement assistance grants for solid waste facility permitting and inspections for FY 2017-18 through 2021-22; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or Designee to sign any future Agreements or amendments related to this grant as per County Policy 1 and 25; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
A Board of Supervisors Resolution is required to authorize the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) to apply for annual grant funding to support Mendocino County's LEA solid waste facility permit and inspection program. The grant guidelines and instructions recommend the Resolution authorize Mendocino County's LEA to apply for these grants for the next five years. Last year Mendocino County received $19,706 from LEA Grant EA-27, and is scheduled to receive $19,423 from LEA Grant EA-28 (FY 2017-2018). This is an annual grant administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, and this Resolution will authorize grant applications annually for the next five years.
