PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On June 21, 2016, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Final Budget for FY 2016/2017 which included $800,000 for the Public Health Building Reroof and HVAC Replacement Project.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On March 8, 2017, the Executive Office/Facilities and Fleet Division issued a Request for Bids for the Public Health Building Reroof and HVAC Replacement Project. Bids were opened at 11:00 a.m. on February 14, 2017. Bidders included: Cupples and Sons for $2,275,000 and Southwest Construction for $2,555,300. It should be noted that the Executive Office received a bid protest related to the Cupples and Sons bid submission. The protest was found to be in favor of the protestor, therefore disqualifying the bid submitted from Cupples and Sons leaving only one remaining bid for potential consideration.

The Executive Office/Facilities and Fleet Division is seeking Board approval to reject the remaining bid and re-bid the project with a revised scope of work. The project was budgeted at $800,000, making the lowest bid $1,475,000 over budget.

The Request for Bid file is available for inspection and review at the Executive Office/Facilities and Fleet Division or on the County's Request for Proposals/BIDS webpage. (link...
