Adopt Resolution requesting permission from the CHP for the “Covelo FFA Field Day Parade” to be held in Covelo, California, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, on State Route 162; and authorize Chair to sign same; and further, authorize the Clerk of the Board to forward copies of the Resolution to the District Permit Coordinator, Caltrans (Eureka), the California Highway Patrol, and the Covelo FFA Advisor.

Summary of Request

The advisor for the Covelo Future Farmers of America (FFA) has requested permission to hold the “Covelo FFA Field Day Parade”, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  The parade route will require the closure of a section of Covelo Road (Highway 162 - Eberle Street to Howard Street) in downtown Covelo.

 

The Board of Supervisors routinely supports these types of events by adopting resolutions requesting the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to grant permission for the event, pursuant to the California Department of Transportation and California Highway Patrol’s Joint Policy Guidelines for special Events on State Conventional Highway Rights of Way.
