On June 21, 2016 the Board of Supervisors approved an outdoor festival application for the Mendocino Music Festival.                     

 

Summary of Request

Pursuant to Mendocino County Code 6.16 approve the application for the Mendocino Music Festival to be held July 8-22, 2017 and authorize the Tax Collector to issue an Outdoor Festival license.  This event is sponsored by the Mendocino Music Festival, a non-profit organization.

 

The Mendocino Music Festival includes live music including orchestra concerts, Big Band, chamber music ensembles, dance, blues, jazz, world, folk, bluegrass and popular contemporary music and includes provisions for food and alcohol vendors.  The event will be held in Mendocino, California at Headlands State Park with the principal location of 735 Main Street, Mendocino.  The event may draw up to 1,200 attendees including staff and performers.

 

The Tax Collector has compiled the information required to be submitted with the application, attached to the agenda for reference, and after finding it to be complete, submits the application to the Board for approval pursuant to section 6.16.040 of the Mendocino County code.  The attached documentation contains: consent from property owners for the proposed use; a statement from the Sheriff attesting to the adequacy of proposed security; a statement from the County Health Officer attesting to the adequacy of proposed sanitation, food preparation and handling, a waste disposal; and, further documentation required with the application.
