The Memorandum of Understanding has been ongoing since 2007; last action on March 16, 2010, Item No. 4a(10) BOS Agreement 10-021. The Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement has been ongoing since 2007; last action on March 16, 2010, Item No. 4a(8), BOS Agreement 10-020A.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On July 29, 2011, the State of California presented to the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and Center for Medicaid, CHIP, and Survey & Certification (CMS), its plans for reducing the complexity of the eligibility system configuration in California. Those plans included taking the necessary steps to consolidate the existing SAWS Consortia from three to two systems. The recommendation was to merge the LA County and C-IV Systems.
In September 2011, AB 16 passed. AB 16 called for "the migration of the 39 C-IV Counties into a single system jointly designed by the 39 counties plus Los Angeles County". Pursuant to the Act, there is hereby created a public entity to be known as the California Automated Consortium Eligib...
