Accept informational presentation concerning National Health Center Week and the impacts of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) on local providers.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) expanded Medicaid eligibility to nearly all adults with incomes at or below 138% of the federal poverty level. Since January 2014, more than 11,500 Mendocino County residents have received health insurance coverage through Medi-Cal expansion under the ACA. With this expanded coverage, enrollment in Mendocino County grew from approximately 26,000 individuals to more than 37,600 today, resulting in over 43% of Mendocino County's population experiencing comprehensive insurance coverage through Medi-Cal. For the expanded Medi-Cal population the law provided for 100% funding through 2016, declining gradually to 90% in 2020 and beyond.

The vast majority of Mendocino County's Medi-Cal members receive patient-centered primary care through local health centers.
