RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve amendment to Agreement No. SS-S16-067 PA No. 17-28 with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center in the amount of $26,000 (for a new total of $75,000) to cover residual costs from FY 2015-16 related to the provision of expanded subsidized employment for CalWORKs job services approved customers; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
With state Expanded Subsidized Employment funding, Mendocino County was able to contract with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center for CalWORKs Job Services customers. Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center offers subsidized employment with the chance of permanent hire in their workforce. Each participant has the opportunity to upgrade his/her work skills while functioning as a paid employee. Contracted services include development of a curriculum to help participants build job skills and maintain accountability, development of a training plan, coordination of said plan, and monitoring of subsidized employees' participation.
