RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution and approve Agreement with Employment Development Department of the State of California in the amount of $75,806 to provide job development services for CalWORKs participants in FY 2017-18; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County CalWORKs Job Services has been partnering with, and co-located with, EDD since 1996. This contract will extend for another year the availability of EDD staff to provide direct placement and/or individualized job development services that are needed to support Welfare-to-Work CalWORKs Job Services participants transitioning from government assistance to self-sufficiency. EDD services include assessment of CalWORKs Job Services participants' employment goals and assistance with expanding participants' job searches by linking transferrable skills to broader occupational and industrial categories.
