This report was previously approved June, 2015.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Under contract with the California Depart of Education (CDE) Child Development Division, the Child Care Planning Council (CCPC) is required to set funding priorities by zip code areas. As grant funds originate from the State for the development or expansion of child development services, applications for funding can be made in any priority number, but are reviewed in order of their designated priority. Zip Codes Priority report for 2016 was rolled over from the June 2015.

Changes that are deemed significant require approval and signatures from authorized representatives of the County Board of Supervisors and the County Superintendent of Schools. CCPC Members have adjusted our priority rankings based upon the requirements set by CDE.

Where the Council advocates for a higher or lower priority ranking than would be assigned based on CDE's formula/rubric, the Council notes our reasoning for either decision on the attached spreadsheets. CCPC Manager (Catherine McKay) will be present at the July 18th Board of Supervisors meeting should this item require greater attention/discussion.
