RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution pursuant to Caltrans/California Highway Patrol's Joint Policy Guidelines for Special Events on State Conventional Highways in order to obtain a permit from Caltrans for the Round Valley High School Homecoming Parade in Covelo on Friday, October 20, 2017, authorize Chair to sign same; and direct the Clerk of the Board to forward copies of the Resolution to the Caltrans District Permit Coordinator (Eureka), the California Highway Patrol, and the Round Valley Unified School District.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Round Valley High School will have their football homecoming game on Friday, October 2o, 2017. The Round Valley High School wishes to hold a parade in connection with the homecoming game. The parade will be held on Friday, October 2o, 2017, between4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M., commencing on Eberle Street and continuing on Highway 162 through the town of Covelo, ending on Howard Street.

In order to obtain a permit from Caltrans for the parade, a letter of support is required from the California Highway Patrol and Sheriff, along with a Resolution from the Board of Supervisors and a certificate of insurance from the event's insurance carrier pursuant to Caltrans/California Highway Patrol's Joint Policy Guidelines for Special Events on State Conventional Highways.
