PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On July 11, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Mendocino and Lake Counties, Board of Supervisors Agreement no. 17-048, for Acting Sealer services in the amount of $1,500 per month, for the term of July 1, 2107 through August 31, 2017. On September 12, 2017, the Board approved an Amendment to Agreement no. 17-048 for Acting Sealer services in the amount of $1,500 per month, for the term of August 31, 2017 to October 31, 2017.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Business and Professions Code (PBC) Section 12200 requires that counties appoint a Sealer of Weights and Measures. Mendocino County's Sealer position became vacant at the end of January 2017. In the absence of a licensed Sealer, the Board of Supervisors approved an MOU between Mendocino and Lake Counties authorizing Sealer services to be provided by Lake County. The proposed amendment would extend the term of the agreement from October 31, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
