SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On October 9, 2017, the Mendocino Lake Complex Fire started and has resulted in significant structural damage and evacuations of several portions of the County. On October 13, 2017, the local health officer declared a local health emergency under Health and Safety Code section 101080 due to hazardous materials contained in the debris from structures destroyed by the fire. That declaration will expire after seven (7) days unless ratified by the Board of Supervisors.
The declaration will assist with State support for the recovery efforts. The Health Officer recommends status reports on clean-up efforts every 14 days to support the ongoing declaration of this local health emergency.
