PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On October 13, 2017, the local health officer issued a declaration of local health emergency due to the hazardous debris generated by the Redwood Complex Fire. On October 17, 2017, and October 31, 2017, the Board ratified the declaration.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On October 9, 2017, the Redwood Complex Fire started and resulted in significant structural damage of several portions of the County. On October 13, 2017, the local health officer declared a local health emergency under Health and Safety Code Section 101080 due to hazardous materials contained in the debris from structures destroyed by the fire. The Board of Supervisors ratified the declaration on October 13, 2017, and October 31, 2017. It is requested that the Board find that the local health emergency continues to exist, and therefore reaffirms the proclamation of local health emergency.
