Adopt Resolution supporting the application of the City of Point Arena for a Community Development Block Grant Planning and Technical Assistance Grant supporting the potential future sale and transfer of ownership of the Point Arena Veteran's Memorial Building from the County of Mendocino to the City of Point Arena; and authorize chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Point Arena City Hall is co-located at the County-owned Point Arena Veteran's Memorial Building pursuant to a 1986 agreement that also places the City in charge of scheduling activities in the building. The building also houses a substation of the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office and is utilized by the Coastal Seniors and by the Mendocino County Superior Court as a court facility. In 2014 the City and County discussed transfer of the building to the City for one dollar provided future priority for use by Veterans' organizations and continued use by the County, Coastal Seniors and Superior Court was assured. The transfer was put on hold when the City decided that it was not financially feasible to assume the cost of building repair and maintenance.
