Summary of Request

During the recent wildfires in Mendocino County, the County requested mutual aid from a number of outside agencies.  In order for the County of Mendocino to obtain funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reimburse providers of mutual aid for the services provided, mutual aid agreements with providers are required. The amount of reimbursement that will be requested from each providing agency is currently unknown. In order to expedite the process of securing mutual aid agreements, it is requested that the Purchasing Agent and Chief Executive Officer, and in the case of law enforcement mutual aid agreements the Purchasing Agent, Chief Executive Officer and the Sheriff, be authorized to sign mutual aid agreements for services provided during times of declared emergency. The attached resolution asks for approval for the Purchasing Agent and Chief Executive Officer to sign memoranda of agreement for mutual aid in declared emergencies and authorizing the Purchasing Agent, Chief Executive Officer and Sheriff to sign memoranda of agreement for law enforcement mutual aid in declared emergencies.
