Summary of Request

Mendocino County Planning and Building Services (PBS) has an approved agreement, with Taylor Code Consulting, Inc. to provide management of the cannabis regulations, assistance with abatement of abandoned vehicles, oversight of contracts related to the code enforcement division and training of staff regarding code enforcement policies and procedures.  This is a three year agreement; however due to the recent disaster, more time and funds were spent than anticipated during the first year of this contract.  PBS estimates that an additional $350,000 will be needed to complete the term of the contract through June 30, 2020.   All other terms and conditions of the contract remain in full force.  Funding will be partially provided through Nuisance Abatement funds as well as violation and penalty fees related to building permits and planning project applications collected from code enforcement action.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not approve the amendment and provide direction to staff.
