SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Ford Street Project, the only residential substance abuse treatment facility in Mendocino County, provides treatment for Health and Human Services Agency, Family and Children's Services (FCS) clients including a weekly minimum of twenty hours of therapeutic counseling and random urinalysis for the purpose of screening for drugs and alcohol. The proposed Amendment will allow FCS to serve additional clients who need residential substance abuse treatment as part of their FCS case plans. Over 80% of parents whose children are removed by FCS are involved with drugs and alcohol. Successful substance abuse treatment is the key step to reuniting with their children.
