PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On June 6, 2017, representatives from EDFC and West Co provided a presentation to the Board of Supervisors regarding possibilities for a consolidated organization with expanded responsibility for economic development.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The development and support of a local economy is vital to any community. It is even more important as a recovery strategy in response to the wildfires we experienced in October. A group of County staff from multiple departments are working through the County's Leadership Initiative in support of economic development, with a primary focus on housing. This Leadership Group will provide a brief overview of their recent activities, and introduce EDFC and West Company. These organizations function as the County's primary partners in the provision of business support and collection of economic data. Heather Gurewitz, Executive Director of EDFC and Mary Anne Petrillo, Executive Director of West Company, will provide presentations that speak to the history and role of their organizations and address opportunities for EDFC and West Company to work together in partnership with the County to provide further stre...
