PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On July 17, 2017 the Board approved Agreement Number 17-060.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Board of Supervisors is to approve all Agreements that do not contain a maximum contract amount.
The County's health plan consultant, Keenan and Associates, through the Keenan Pharmacy Purchasing
Coalition (KPPC), negotiates directly with the County's pharmacy provider, Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI).
The direct negotiation results in maximum savings to ESI customers. To receive the benefit of these
negotiated fees the County must be a member of the KPPC.
The monthly membership fee is calculated on a per-member, per month (PMPM) basis. Effective July 1,
2018, the membership fee is $1.50 PMPM and is guaranteed through calendar year 2019.
