Summary of Request:
The California State Water Resources Control Board has funding available for water quality monitoring and public notification programs at California beaches. The funds are used for sample collection, lab analysis, and report preparation. Health and Human Services Agency, Environmental Health, has conducted weekly sampling from July 1, 2017 through October 31, 2017, and plans to conduct weekly sampling from April 1, 2018 through June 30, 2018, at five popular beaches: Pudding Beach, Caspar Cove Beach, Hare Beach, Big River, and Little River at Van Damme. Additional sampling is done in partnership with the Surf Riders Association at Virgin Creek. This contract is retroactive due to the State’s delay in sending the Agreement in January.
