PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On April 5, 2016, the Board adopted Resolution Number (No.) 16-041, establishing the total mileage of County Maintained Roads at 1,014.86 miles as of December 31, 2015. On April 18, 2017 the Board adopted Resolution No. 17-055, establishing the total mileage of County Maintained Roads at 1,014.86 miles as of December 31, 2016.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Streets and Highways Code requires that in May of each year the County submit to the California Department of Transportation any additions to or exclusions from its adopted maintained mileage during the preceding calendar year. The Mendocino County Department of Transportation (MCDoT) has determined that Cummings Frontage Road, County Road (CR) 442G, (0.13 miles of road) was accepted into the County maintained system in 1968, and Confusion Hill, CR 442F (0.35 miles of road) was accepted into the County maintained system in 2013, but were inadvertently not included in those years maintained mileage calculation. There were no further additions or exclusions in 2015. MCDoT has recalculated the mileage of County Maintained Roads in the County of Mendocino using current segment length measurements and the most recent functional classifications and determined that the total mileage is 1,015.77 miles, which is 0.91 miles more than reported last April.
