PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board's approval of the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget included funding in Budget Unit 1710 (Capital Improvements) to "Repair and Replace Front Canopy at Yokayo Center" in the amount of $300,000.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Yokayo Center's entry canopy is damaged due to water intrusion and the cement plaster ceiling of the entry canopy is at risk of collapsing. The cement plaster ceiling over the building entrances has been removed under a separate emergency contract, and the remaining covered areas have been secured with temporary fencing panels. The design contract will provide comprehensive design services to develop phased projects to systematically remove the existing structure completely and design new entry systems and fa?ade upgrade for the County's Yokayo Center.
