Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 17-146 declaring the existence of a Local Emergency related to the Redwood Complex Fire on October 10, 2017; and further, received an update on the issues regarding fire recovery efforts on October 17, October 24, October 31, November 7, November 13, 2017, November 21, 2017, December 5, 2017; December 18, 2017; January 23, 2018; February 6, 2018; February 27, 2018; March 13, 2018; March 27, 2018; and April 10, 2018.

 

Summary of Request

On October 8, 2017, the Mendocino Lake Complex Fire started and has resulted in significant structural damage and evacuations of several portions of the County.  A Local Emergency was declared on October 9, 2017, followed the same day by a declaration by Governor Brown that a State emergency exists throughout Mendocino County.  On October 10 2017, and on October 17, 2017, the Board of Supervisors ratified the Mendocino County Chief Executive Officer/Director of Emergency Services and Public Health Officer’s proclamation that an emergency exists in Mendocino County and authorized the Chief Executive Officer to take all necessary actions to provide information to the public and to coordinate the collection and transmittal of all information required to be approved for State and Federal assistance.
