PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On October 10, 2017, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 17-147, declaring an emergency related to the Redwood Complex Fire. On October 31, 2017, November 14, 2017, and November 21, 2017, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Nos. 17-153, 17-164, 17-174, 17-176, 17-194, 18-004; 18-016; 18-027; and 18-039 respectively, declaring continuations of the local emergency.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On October 9, 2017, the Redwood Fire started and has resulted in significant structural damage to several portions of the County. On October 9, 2017, the Mendocino County Chief Executive Officer/Director of Emergency services proclaimed, by delegation, that a state of emergency exists. On October 10, 2017, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 17-147, declaring an emergency related to the Redwood Complex Fire. On October 31, 2017, November 14, 2017, November 21, 2017, December 5, 2017, and December 19, 2017, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Nos. 17-153, 17-164, 17-174, 17-176, 17-194, 18-004, 18-016, 18-027; 18-039 respectively, declaring continuations of the Local Emergency.
As of 4/9/18, the preliminary hazardous waste sweeps have been completed for all 337 properties. 321 properties have arranged for cleanup through the public Consolidated Debris Removal Program, and debris has been removed from 313 parcels, of which 70 are still awaiting final soil testing results.
