Adopt Resolution approving Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement Number (No.) 170066, Professional Services Agreement with GHD Inc., for the term starting upon execution of the Agreement through March 31, 2020, in the amount of $150,000 for the Orchard Avenue Extension Feasibility Study, County Road (CR) 147, and authorizing the Director of Transportation to sign any and all amendments to the Agreement not exceeding $15,000 (Ukiah Area); and authorize Chair to sign same.

By resolution 17-130, September 12, 2017, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors authorized Mendocino County DOT to enter into a contract to receive California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Sustainable Community-Based Transportation Planning (CBTP) Grant funds for the “Orchard Avenue Extension Feasibility Study”.
Summary of Request:
DOT agreement No. 170066 provides for feasibility study for the northerly extension of Orchard Avenue, CR 147, in the Ukiah Area, resulting in the development of a final report that includes recommendations for a feasible alternative for a roadway extension that includes bicycle and pedestrian facilities as integral features of the road infrastructure. GHD Inc. has agreed to perform the required work for a not-to-exceed amount of $150,000. DOT believes it is prudent to budget a contingency amount of $15,000 for additional amendments for unforeseen additional work that may need to be performed and to authorize the Director of Transportation to execute amendments to use the contingency amount.
