SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the Department of Health and Human Services awarded $2,000,000 in grant funds to the Housing Options for Mendocino (HOMe) Team of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) that are to be distributed equally over the next five fiscal years, beginning with $400,000 in fiscal year 2017-18. The funds are to be used to decrease homelessness and to improve the health, well-being, and self-sufficiency of homeless people who have co-occurring disorders (both a mental health and a substance abuse problem).
