Summary of Request

Volunteers in New Jersey started National Child Care Provider Day, a special day set aside to recognize child care providers, teachers, and other educators of young children everywhere.   National Child Care Provider Day is now celebrated each year on the Friday before Mother’s Day.

In an effort to recognize the tireless efforts of providers who care for children of working parents in Mendocino County, the Health and Human Services Agency asks the Board of Supervisors to designate May 2018 as Child Care Provider Appreciation Month. Child care providers allow over 5,000 Mendocino County residents to participate in the workforce, increasing our local economy.
