SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Code Enforcement Division of the Department of Planning and Building Services requests acceptance of a report and update regarding code enforcement activities in the County. Since the last report in fall of 2016, the County has hired additional support staff, dedicated additional resourced, and dedicated a full time staff attorney. With the increased dedication of staff and resources, the Division has seen many successes about which it would like to make the Board aware. In addition to reporting the activities of the past year, this presentation will provide a brief update on the continued needs for further program and ordinance development, outstanding fine collection, and the necessity of continued full time legal support from County Counsel to complete enforcement action, seek civil remedies through court action and other legal remedies.
