Summary of Request

On May 10, 2018, PG&E notified the Eel Russian River Commission that the company has decided to put the Potter Valley Project up for auction this fall.  As PG&E prepares for the auction, they are open to exploring with local, county and/or state government entities that have an interest in the continued operation of the project the possibility of transferring it to a local or regional entity as an alternative to the auction.   PG&E will assess the progress of a transfer to another government entity as they proceed, and based on meaningful progress, will either continue direct negotiations or proceed with the auction.   To ensure that Mendocino County has a voice during the transfer or sale of the Potter Valley Project, the Mendocino County Water Agency recommends the Board of Directors/Board of Supervisors form an ad hoc committee to represent the County during this process.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not create ad hoc and provide alternative direction.
