Approve Agreement with National Alliance on Mental Illness Mendocino in the amount of $140,000 to provide Mental Health Services Act, Prevention and Early Intervention Services for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020; authorize Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The use of peer support for behavioral health has existed for decades and has become more popular in recent years. Peer support has been shown to improve quality of life, improve engagement and satisfaction with services, improve whole health, decrease hospitalization and reduce overall cost of services. Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is contracting with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Mendocino to provide Prevention and Early Intervention Services using the peer support model as part of the Mental Health Services Act three-year plan.
