Approve amendment to BOS Agreement No. 17-142 with Mendocino County Youth Project ("MCYP") in the amount of $38,209, for a total agreement amount of $114,627, to provide counseling services for Probation youth at New Beginnings School, extending the termination date from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2019; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors approved an amendment to Purchasing Agent Agreement #17-23 on November 14, 2017 to extend the termination date by one-year and to increase the total agreement amount.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County Youth Project provides 24.0 hours per week mental health services to Probation youth attending the New Beginnings School. Services are provided by a licensed or licensed-eligible counselor or clinician approved by both MCYP and Probation. The counselor works with Probation staff as needed to provide crisis intervention assessment, counseling and case management, develop client treatment plans, provide individual, group and family therapy and make referrals to outside agencies. Services provided at New Beginnings can be coordinated with services provided at Juvenile Hall and the Foundations/Dual Diagnosis programs also provided by MCYP as youth move through various stages of the juvenile justice system, thus pro...
